Altitude
is also capable of being installed either as an embedded solution or as a software
only solution to be deployed on a Windows XP Professional or Windows 2003
Client-Server based application.
Altitude is sold pre-installed on a PC platform and configured to the customer’s
requirements by our implementation services team. Altitude Server, Pilot and the required
drivers, along with fully commissioned graphics pages, are installed and ready
to use. For solutions requiring
automatic meter reading and data logging features, there is the Energy Data
Hub – an embedded PC platform pre-loaded with Altitude and a range of data logging
and profiling software designed for energy applications. In both cases, the PC is loaded with TCP/IP
based remote control application, which can be accessed via any standard web
browser without the need for any software to be installed on the client computer.
Altitude is an intelligent middleware software
solution which can run one or more communication driver which provides
access to all open standard protocols as well as to most proprietary and
specialist legacy protocols. The
architecture of Altitude is based on services, which perform specific functions
and run as separate tasks, ensuring that the performance of one service does
not affect another. This modular
architecture improves reliability.
Altitude is currently being developed into a web services framework in
order to facilitate and enhance the operation of third party applications.
