Altitude acts as intelligent middleware software
through simultaneously delivering, via a web browser, building and energy
management control of a wide range of devices and BEMS that populate a typical
building. Altitude is able to achieve
this as a result of Plexus having developed drivers to communicate with almost
all building automation systems, industrial and meter protocols,
industry-standard or proprietary.
Altitude allows multiple drivers to run simultaneously, thereby allowing
many disparate systems to be connected as if they were one system, through a
common graphical user interface. Users
are then given different levels of access control and authority over making
changes to the device over IP to:
Have remote and
on-site set point control;
Manage data in
respect of asset performance and scheduled maintenance;
Link energy
consumption with the operation of plant;
Control
individual devices;
Audit trail;
Load shedding;
Obtain data for
statutory compliance purposes; and
Identify best
practices
This also has the advantage of allowing the user to
achieve interoperability – the ability to embark on a rolling program of change
of underlying devices, without changing the user interface through which the
device is monitored or controlled.
